Plevenski Tsiment AD

The project “Reconstruction of road and railway loading area for bulk cement” on the grounds of Cement Plant Plevenski Tsiment AD was built and commissioned by virtue of Act No. 16. The project included the construction of a road and railway loading area for bulk cement, including new silos and vehicle scales.

The newly designed facilities are located west of the existing silos No. 1 and No. 5 at gauge clearance from the railway line. The work on the site included construction of concrete foundations, concrete and steel structures, as well as installation and start-up and commissioning works of the entire facility.

The structure is monolithic. A structure has been built to reinforce the elevator housing to the existing building between cement silos No. 1 and No. 5.

The gallery is covered and plated with trapezoid steel iron with plastic coating. The trestle is supported by two grid columns with a height of 27 meters. There is a winding staircase structure around the column on the side of the vehicle loading area.

The vehicle scales and electrical room, adjacent to the railway loading area, are monolithic structures, built of brick walls on strip foundations. A monolithic framework structure is constructed above the vehicle scales, which supports two metal silos for cement and an area for the pneumo-channels of the auto cement transporters.

A separate staircase structure for access to the area of the pneumo-channels and inspection path at elevation +2.50 m has also been built adjacent to the railway loading area. The gallery is covered and plated with trapezoid sheet iron with plastic coating. The trestle is supported by two grid columns with a height of 27 meters. There is a winding staircase structure around the column on the side of vehicle loading area.

The following technological equipment is installed at the site:

The extraction of cement from the first two reinforced concrete silos is implemented through extraction systems, consisting of manual valves, receiving box, dispensing shaft and emptying head. The cement is transported from the working system through pneumo-channels with a width of 300 mm and a slope of 6° to a chain bucket elevator.

An impulse filter "SCHEUCH", located on one of the reinforced concrete silos, has been installed to keep the elevator free of dust.

Above the pairs of steel silos are separated areas over which are located facilities, distributing the cement to the filling silo. They are a two-lined chute, pneumo-channels and emptying heads. Both silos are connected with a bypass pipe.
